Quarter Life Crisis daw o!?

A week ago, I told Randall that I think I'm having some sort of a "midlife crisis". I told him that I feel old already. And the fact that my youngest brother is graduating from high school, I really feel old. I don't want to reminisce about the things I did for this kid ( he's still a baby for me!) because I might get depressed again. hehehe.... Aside from that, I'm a little bit frustrated because I have a lot of plans lined up that I haven't accomplished yet. I'm a little worried that I might not even accomplish those plans. Ok, now i'm really depressed! sigh...

Anyway, I did a little research on the web about midlife crisis and I found this definition of mid life crisis in wikipedia as "an emotional state of doubt and anxiety in which a person becomes uncomfortable with the realization that life is halfway over." Then the other day, Vienna mentioned that I might be experiencing what therapists or psychologists call a "quarterlife crisis". Again, I checked google and this came out in wikipedia

"The 'quarterlife crisis' (QLC) is a term applied to the period of life immediately following the major changes of adolescence, usually ranging from the ages of 21 - 29. The term is named by analogy with mid-life crisis."

Also mentioned are the emotional chracteristics of this so called quarterlife crisis:
  • feeling "not good enough" because one can't find a job that is at his/her academic/intellectual level
  • frustration with relationships, the working world, and finding a suitable job or career
  • confusion of identity
  • insecurity regarding the near future
  • insecurity regarding present accomplishments
  • re-evaluation of close interpersonal relationships
  • disappointment with one's job
  • nostalgia for university or college life
  • tendency to hold stronger opinions
  • boredom with social interactions
  • financially-rooted stress
  • loneliness
  • desire to have children
  • a sense that everyone is, somehow, doing better than you

Well, I do feel some of this emotional characterisitcs, so definitely I'm currently experiencing this QLC. Did further searching on the web and I found out that there's a website that focuses on this crisis! I checked the website and there's so many articles discussing how to cope up with quarterlife crisis and stuff. I can't even believe that there's a website and a couple of books dedicated for this! In fairness, the site is informative in the sense that there are articles that will help you cope up with QLC and it also has a forum. heheheh... Anyway, you may check out the site at www.quarterlifecrisis.com. Let me know what you think.
